Beverly Servi spent a decade building a band of mares nobody else was breeding, chasing big bone, striking colour and a good head, all in the same horse. Their sons and daughters are now winning in reining, cow horse, ranch riding and ranch horse.
Beverly bought him on a feeling. Ten years later his first foals hit the ground and he finished the season as the number one freshman sire in the country — in three separate arenas at once.
His recordNobody at the barn calls him that. He is Onyx, he stands fourteen-one, and in 2025 he went out and won the CRCHA Open Derby against horses with a hand on him.

Growing up I did not have the opportunity to be in the horse industry, but my love for horses kept drawing me to become a breeder. I dreamed of foaling out mares and raising the most extraordinary horses.
It took a decade, and it did not come easy. At one point I almost quit. I am so glad I stuck to it.
